About us
The Karamū River Catchments Collective supports a major share of Hawke’s Bay’s productive landscape and regional economy. The long-term success of our primary industries depends on healthy soils, functioning waterways, resilient ecosystems and communities that care for the land around them.
Helping nature and productive landscapes thrive
What we do
We bring together farmers, growers, landowners, iwi, schools, businesses and communities to test, demonstrate and share practical ways nature can strengthen the landscapes we all enjoy.
Connected to community
Our members are connected to the communities in which they live and farm. Together we support local schools, iwi, businesses, restoration groups, helping strengthen the places we all call home.
Stories From Our Catchment
Our purpose is to help nature thrive within working and living landscapes.
We focus on practical, locally led action that shows how biodiversity and productive land use can exist side by side strengthening each other over time.
We work across the catchment to show what becomes possible when nature is integrated into everyday land use.
Our Purpose
Our Projects
We think enduing change happens when people can see nature positive action working across the landscapes they live and work in. From wetland restoration and riparian planting to trapping programmes and urban biodiversity initiatives, our projects demonstrate how nature positive action can support different land uses and industries across the Karamū catchment.
